I began this piece as a single panel, the left one. It always seemed incomplete so I expanded the idea into two panels. This is also the first time I have been able to incorporate a drawing of mine into an image. The tree in the center of the image originated as a small sketch and through the use of various filters, digital painting, and colorizing I came up with what I believe is a very interesting tree.

I was also able to create the vines with flowers by utilizing drawing and scanning. I first printed out an enlarged version of the masonry. I then used tracing paper to sketch the vines over the printout.

For the cocoon I twisted wet paper towels into the shape I needed, let it dry and cut it open. I then spray painted it gold before photographing it. Once pasted into the image, I layered it with duct tape fibers to add a little texture.

But, most the most important process here is imagination. Familiarize yourself with the tools and dream. I have only started to plumb the depths of this wonderful program and part of the excitement is anticipating the next revelation. I guess that's the way I live my life... I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!
